How to Prepare for an Appointment with a Notary Public

If it is your first time scheduling an appointment with a Notary Public, below are 3 quick tips to help you prepare for the appointment:

Give the Notary Public a Call - Often times, by making a quick call to the notary public, you’ll get answers to all of your questions. Any time someone calls the Bay Area Notary we give them a step by step rundown as to what they can expect at the time of the appointment. We explain what items they should have prepared, how long the appointment will take, and also how much the service will cost.

Print Your Documents - If you haven’t already done so, you should print out all of the documents that need to be signed and reviewed by the notary public. For any of our clients that don’t have access to a printer, The Bay Area Notary is able to print the documents and bring them to the appointment upon request; however, forward notice is required.

Make Sure You Have Your ID Ready - The most commonly used forms of ID at the time of a notary appointment are state issued driver’s licenses and nondriver state ID’s. Other acceptable forms of ID include: passport, driver’s license issued by Mexico or Canada, employee ID card issued by an agency of the state, U.S. military ID, or an inmate ID issued by the Department of Corrections.If you do not have any of the above forms of identification, give The Bay Area Notary a call, and we will be able to explain some alternative ways we can still carry out the notary appointment.
